The Philippine hawk-eagle (Nisaetus philippensis), earlier treated under Spizaetus,[2] is a species of bird of prey in the Accipitridae family. Many taxonmists consider the Pinsker's hawk-eagle, a former subspecies, raised to full species status.[3][4][5] It is endemic to the Philippines. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
