Premios Gardel is an Argentine music industry awards, first held in 1999,[1] and nominations are usually based on the previous calendar year. The awards are presented by CAPIF. The award is named after Carlos Gardel, one of the earliest well-known musicians in Argentina.
The most important prize is Gardel de Oro, which was since 2003, given to a person who wins the Album of the Year.
The awards are the Argentine equivalent of American Grammy Awards and British BRIT Awards.
