Purrawunda is a locality in the Toowoomba Region of the Darling Downs in southern Queensland, Australia. At the 2011 Australian Census Purrawunda and surrounds recorded a population of 385.[1] The majority of the land in Purrawunda is used for agricultural purposes.
JBS Australia, a subsidiary of JBS S.A. owns Beef City at Purrawunda. The beef abattoir is co-located with a feedlot so that meat quality and animal welfare can be maintained.[2]
Soils in the area feature dark, medium clays which are fertile and well drained.[3]
