Aged 17 he launched a T-shirt brand, "Teuchiland", that parodied the Timberland brand with a reference to cannabis. He then launched the King Size skateboard fashion brand in 1996, with his friend Marco.[1][2] In 1997 he co-created the Polette T-shirt brand, parodying the Colette boutique.[2] He has been a designer for Liberty of London.[1]

With Marc Jacobs and Jeremy Scott he ran l'Epicerie, a concept store that opened in September 1998 and closed in April 1999.[1][2] In February 2000 he moved to Tokyo to help revive the chain And A, and moved back to Paris in 2001 to launch Consultants, a fashion consulting company.[2] In 2004 he opened a Paris store, Bureau Politique, which is the home to his Résistance and RT brands.[1] His 2006 Résistance line, carried by 150 stores worldwide, paid homage to the Black Panthers and was researched with David Hilliard, a founding member.[3][4]

In 2007 he revamped Maison de Cire Trudon, a French candlemaker, and he is now the CEO and co-owner.[5]

He married Victoire de Taillac in September 2010; they met in 1999 when she ran a PR firm in Paris. They have three children. They live in New York, and previously lived in Tokyo, London, Paris, Jaipur, and Tangier.[6] His father is a French union organizer and a communist. Ramdane opened another shop for a very short time on Grand Street.[3][4]
