Rawalpindi/Islamabad Union of Journalists

Rawalpindi/Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) is a union for working journalists in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan and its twin city Rawalpindi. Most of the working journalists including reporters, editors, photographers are its members. At times, the credibility is at stake as some people allege that the association has fake membership. The Government of Pakistan has provided them the building and they mostly depend upon government funds as their canteen offer subsidized food to its members, but their sources of income are limited. Some members, whose salaries run into thousands of dollars, are reluctant to donate to the union and thus compels the office bearers to beg government all the time.
