The Red River krait, Bungarus slowinskii, is a species of venomous snake in the family Elapidae.[2] Based on the current knowledge on this rare snake, it is endemic to Vietnam, although it is suspected that it might occur also in Laos.[1]

The specific name slowinskii honors Joseph Bruno Slowinski, an American herpetologist who died from a krait bite.[3]
