Rihards Bukarts (born 31 December 1995 in Jūrmala, Latvia) is a Latvian ice hockey player. He is currently playing for Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League. Bukarts was selected 9th overall in the 2012 KHL Junior Draft by the Dinamo Riga.[1] With the selection Bukarts became the highest drafted Latvian in KHL history, 4 spots higher than his brother Roberts Bukarts in 2009.

Bukarts Jr. is youngest player ever who score in MHL on September 15, 2011 .[2] Bukarts jr was selected 7th overall in the 2013 CHL Import Draft by Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL). [3] Bukarts is highest drafted player in Wheat Kings history. In the summer in 2013 Bukarts jr brake a contract with Dinamo Riga and left to North America to play for Brandon Wheat Kings in WHL.In His first season in North America in 2013/2014 season Bukarts Jr. in 65 games scored (28) goals (WHL Most Goals by Rookie) and gave 26 assists. In 2014/2015 season in 62 games Bukarts scored (33) goals and became most goals scored European player in teams history (single season record) as well He add a (41) assists that season.2014/2015 season His team Brandon WheatKings last in WHL finals against Kelowna Rockets. in 16 play off games Bukarts Jr. scored (4) goals and add (14) assists ass well.

In February, 8 2015, Rihards Bukarts was named-Denny's WHL Player of the Week

In December, 14 2015, Rihards Bukarts was named 2nd time in His career WHL player of the Week

In 2015, September He attended NHL Edmonton Oilers camp.

He participated at the 2012 and 2013 IIHF World U18 Championships and also 2013 IIHF World U20 Championships he was a member of the Latvia men's national junior ice hockey team.

On July 2, 2012 Rihards Bukarts signed with Dinamo Riga two-way contract.[4]

On July 19 2013 Rihards Bukarts signed with Brandon Wheat Kings. [5]
