Rural Municipality of Leask No. 464

The Rural Municipality of Leask No. 464, Saskatchewan is located in the North Central portion of the province in SARM Division No. 5, and west of the city of Prince Albert.

Boundaries

The boundaries of the rural municipality extend east by Duck Lake No. 463, Saskatchewan, northeast by Shellbrook No. 493, Saskatchewan, south by Blaine Lake No. 434, Saskatchewan, southwest by Redberry No. 435, Saskatchewan, and west by Spiritwood No. 496, Saskatchewan.

Communities

The communities of Leask, Parkside, and Pebble Baye are all located within the geographical boundaries of Leask No. 464, as are the Mistawasis 103 and several separate locations of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation 102 First Nations Indian reserves. None of these communities, however, is technically part of Leask No. 464.

Population

As of the census in 2001, there were 761 people living in the RM of Leask. The RM is part of the Prince Albert Parkland Regional Health Authority.

Government of the RM

All rural municipalities have elected councils, along with an elected head called a reeve. The current reeve of the RM of Leask is Jim Joanette. There are six councilers, who are currently:

  • Division 1 – Len Cantin
  • Division 2 – Real Diehl
  • Division 3 –Don Kavanagh
  • Division 4 – Edward Musich
  • Division 5 – Robert Girod
  • Division 6 – Victor Unyi
