Scarlett Mellish Wilson is a British model and dancer, who works in Indian cinema.[2]

Career

Wilson was born and brought up in UK. She studied performing arts at the Tiffany Theatre College in London.[3] She got trained in ballet and jazz.[4] She said that she has been dancing since the age of one.[5]

She came to India in 2009 to work in Bollywood and began modeling.[6] She also assisted on choreography for the TV show Chak Dhoom Dhoom [3] and worked across many cities in various projects including television and commercial ads [5] with actors like Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan.[4]

She had worked with numerous choreographers including Bosco-Caesar who recommended her to director Dibakar Banerjee. She appeared in the item number "Imported Kamariya" in his political thriller film Shanghai in which she also had a small role.[5][6] She said that her role in Shanghai was inspired by Katrina Kaif.[7] After Shanghai she appeared in many item numbers in Bollywood films like Bajatey Raho and R... Rajkumar [8][9] and in the various South Indian film industries. She danced in Telugu films Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu,[10] Chandee [11] and Yevadu and in Kannada films Mahanadhi [12] and Prem Adda.[13] She will be seen in Vijay's Tamil film Jilla too.[14] She also performed in the Punjabi music video Feem (Cut Like A Diamond) by Jazzy B.[15] She won her first lead role in an upcoming film written & directed by Ahsan Hyder in which she is paired opposite Rajeev Khandelwal.[16] Scarlett featured in an item song Manohari in 2015 Indian bilingual film Baahubali: The Beginning, directed by S. S. Rajamouli.[17][18]
