Scorpio Babers (born November 6, 1983 in Italy, Texas) is a former American football cornerback. He was signed by the Miami Dolphins as a street free agent in 2008. He played college football at Sam Houston State.

Babers has been a member of the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Sharks and Calgary Stampeders.

Professional career

First stint with Dolphins

Babers was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2008. He was waived by the Dolphins on July 30, 2008 after the team signed cornerback Chris Roberson.[1]

Green Bay Packers

On August 8, 2008, Babers was signed by the Green Bay Packers to fill the roster spot vacated by quarterback Brett Favre after his trade to the New York Jets. He was waived by the Packers on August 30 during final cuts.

Second stint with Dolphins

Babers was re-signed to the Dolphins' practice squad on December 24, 2008. He was re-signed to a future contract on January 5, 2009. He was released on June 15, 2009.

Jacksonville Sharks

Babers was signed by the Jacksonville Sharks in 2010. Babers was released by the Sharks so he could pursue a career in the CFL.

Calgary Stampeeders

Babers was signed by the Calgary Stampeders on May 17, 2011. On June 19, 2011, he was released by the team during training camp.[2]
