Shogo Akiyama (秋山 翔吾, born April 16, 1988 in Yokosuka, Kanagawa) is a Japanese professional baseball outfielder for the Saitama Seibu Lions in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball. In 2015, Akiyama set the NPB record for hits in a single season with 216,[1] surpassing the 214 collected by Matt Murton of the Hanshin Tigers in 2010.
