Shorecrest High School is a public high school (grades 9 through 12) in Shoreline, Washington, United States, one of two high schools in the Shoreline School District. Shorecrest was founded in 1961. Its mascot is Otis the Fighting Scot and students refer to themselves as "Scots," or the "Highlanders," a reference to the Clan Gordon.

Demographics
The demographic breakdown of the 1,275 students enrolled for the 2012-2013 school year was:

Performing arts
Shorecrest has a long-standing tradition of performing in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. Other notable performances by the Shorecrest Marching Band include the 1989 Presidential Inauguration Parade in Washington D.C. and the 1991 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA.
Band
The Highlander Marching band consists of over 100 musicians accompanied by Highland Dancers and Flags. The band members wear the traditional kilt and uniform of the Clan Gordon. The band is an all-volunteer group which rehearses outside of class time. The drum line wears red jackets.
The marching band frequently competes in the Victoria Day Parade in Victoria, Canada.[citation needed][clarification needed] The music department offers bagpipes as a class for credit. The Pipers perform at many school events and are at the lead of the Highlander Marching Band.
Jazz Band
Orchestra
In May 2008, the Shorecrest orchestra performed in Idaho at Silverwood's "Music in the Parks" festival. They placed first in the large high school division, was named the best overall high school orchestra, and earned the highest rating of all musical ensembles in the entire festival, which included orchestras, bands, jazz bands, and choirs.[citation needed]
Hip Hop Dance Team
The Shorecrest Hip Hop Dance Team was founded in 1993 to promote diversity within the community by using hip hop dance as its medium. The team has won District, State and National Championships as well as WIAA Academic Championships.[citation needed][clarification needed]
Drama
Shorecrest's drama program has won the award for best overall performance in the 5th Avenue Theatre's statewide high school musical awards, for its 2003 production of Oliver!, as well as numerous acting awards.[citation needed]
