Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM), formerly Shri Ramdeobaba Kamla Nehru Engineering College (SRKNEC), is a college in Nagpur, India. It is an autonomous institution affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.

History

The college is situated in the heart of India in Nagpur city, was established in 1984 by Shri Ramdeobaba Sarvajanik Samiti trust. The trust has been engaged in social activities since 1967.

Campus

The campus covers 25 acres (100,000 m2) on Ramdeo hill in the eastern part of city, around 6 km from the city center. There is a temple of Ramdeobaba inside the campus.

Admission

Admission criteria is based on the JEE-Main rankings from the academic year 2014 onwards. Earlier, the admissions were given on the basis of Maharashtra CET (85%) and the AIEEE (15%) rankings.

College Fest

Pratishruti (Multiple Talents) is a cultural event held annually in the college in the months of January or February. In the recent years it has witnessed participation from many educational institutions of the region. Many famous artists like Nucleya, Dr. Kumar Vishwas, Raja Hasan have performed in this event. Famous Pakistani Rock Band Jal performed at Pratishruti 2009 which also marked the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the College. India's well-known female rapper, Hard Kaur performed at Pratishruti 2013. Eminent people like writer Chetan Bhagat, director Rajkumar Hirani and successful industrialists like Mr. Rahul Bajaj have also graced this event.In 2016 Nucleya and Daira were also part of it and drew large crowds.

Technovision is a national level technical event with participation from many Engineering Colleges of India. It has events like Technical Paper Presentation, Line Tracer Robots, SoccerBots, AmphiBots, RoboWars, Pirates of the Web, LAN Gaming. Eminent speakers like the former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam have spoken at this event.

The college also has Civil Engineering technical Fest "Neev" which has participation of students from Central India.

SRCOEM was ranked 52 in Outlook India's Top Engineering Colleges of 2011.[1] In the limited participation CSR-GHRDC Engineering Colleges Survey 2011 it was ranked 23.[2] In rankings limited to private colleges it was ranked 30 by Mint's Top 50 Private Engineering Colleges of 2009[3] and 16 in Electronics For You's Top 50 Private Engineering Colleges of 2011.[4] SRCOEM is ranked 47 in Outlook India's Top Engineering Colleges of 2014.[1] which was ranked 50 in 2013.
