Stephen S. Hershey, Jr. (born May 2, 1964) is an American politician from the Republican party who was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates.[1]

On September 18, 2013 he was named by Governor Martin O'Malley as a state Senator following the retirement of E. J. Pipkin.

In the legislature

Hershey was sworn in as a member of House of Delegates on January 12, 2011, and appointed to the House Environmental Matters Committee.

On September 18, 2013 he was appointed by Governor Martin O'Malley as the replacement for retiring Senator E. J. Pipkin following a contested appointment process that deadlocked between Hershey and Delegate Michael Smiegel.[2]
