STMPD RCRDS (pronounced "Stamped Records") is a record label founded on March 4, 2016 by DJ and electronic music producer Martin Garrix (Martijn Garritsen).[1][2][3][4] Garrix mentioned that other artists are signed to the label, but has not released any names. Garrix is also planning to open an email for new artists to send their music in order to sign onto the record label.[5]
Garrix released the label's first song, "Now That I've Found You", featuring vocals from John Martin and Michel Zitron, which original instrumental was dubbed "Don't Crack Under Pressure",[6] on March 11, 2016.[2][7][8] The melody of the song was originally created by Garrix during Dancefair in April 2015, and was notably later played during his closing set of Sziget Festival.[9] He will be releasing this song in his debut album, +x, on STMPD RCRDS later this year.[10]
History
Martin Garrix first announced that he was creating his own record label on a Dutch TV show and in his YouTube miniseries, The Martin Garrix Show.[11] This news came quickly after Garrix left Spinnin' Records and MusicAllStars Management on August 27, 2015.[2][6] The separation was cited by Garrix as a disagreement between himself and Spinnin' about the ownership rights of his music.[12][13][14]
On his Twitter account, Garrix has mentioned that the name of the label refers to stamps, and was inspired by his father's stamp auctioning company.[15]
To celebrate the launch of the new label, Garrix hosted a party at STORY Nightclub, a nightclub in Miami, on Friday, March 18, 2016, after he closes the mainstage of Ultra Music Festival.[16] The lineup for this event includes Arty, Jay Hardway, Julian Jordan, Matisse & Sadko, Hardwell, and more unannounced guests.[2][17][18]
