Mt. Redoubt eruption

The eruption cloud of Mount Redoubt, an active stratovolcano found in the Chigmit Mountains of the U.S. state of Alaska, seen here from the Kenai Peninsula four months after it began erupting on December 14, 1989. This eruption was the first ever to be successfully predicted through the observation of long-period seismic events.
