Terrence M. Vinson

Terrence M. Vonson is a General Authority Seventy in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is an Australian. He will begin serving as a member of the Presidency of the Seventy in August 2018.

Vinson was born March 31, 1951 in Sydney, Australia. He converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1974. He has degrees from Sydney Teachers College, Sydney University and Macquarie University. He was a math teacher and university lecturer. In about 1988 he shifted to being a financial adviser and funds manager. He later founded Northhaven Wealth Management of which he was CEO and chairman when he retired in 2011.

Vinson has held several positions in the LDS Church including bishop, member of a high council, counselor in a stake presidency, regional representative, counselor in a mission presidency and area president. He was involved in discussions of a proposed bill of rights for Australia.[1]

Vinson became a general authority seventy in 2013. He was the first resident of Australia called as a general authority.[2] From 2016 to 2018 he was serving as president of the Church's Africa West Area.[3]
