- 4th-5th centuries CE - Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church (Abu Serga) built.
- 6th century - Church of Saint Menas established.
- 642 - Mosque of Amr ibn al-As built.
- 879 - Mosque of Ibn Tulun built.
