Veronica Maria Ferres (born 10 June 1965) is a German actress who gained fame as Martha in the Oscar and Golden Globe nominated film Schtonk. In 2015 she starred in the Werner Herzog film Salt and Fire, co-starring Michael Shannon and Gael García Bernal. She previously worked with the Oscar nominated director Uli Edel in the movie Pay The Ghost, starring Nicolas Cage. In 2014, Veronica was part of the supporting cast in the international film Hector and the Search for Happiness alongside Simon Pegg, Jean Reno, Toni Colette, Christopher Plummer, and Rosamund Pike. That same year, she co-starred with John Malkovich in the international film The Giacamo Variations. She and John Malkovich have collaborated together on several films, they got to know each other during the shooting of Ladies Room in 1999. Veronica also starred in The Devil’s Violinist supported by Jared Harris. It was her 13th international production. In 2007 she starred in the international cinema production Adam Resurrected co-starring Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe, a film directed by Paul Schrader.

Veronica also starred as Pierre Richard's co-star in the French TV-movie Sans famille and as the horrible Mme. Thénardier in the international TV miniseries Les Misérables starring Gerard Depardieu.
