Vinayak Pandurang Karmarkar (Marathi: विनायक पांडुरंग करमरकर) (1891–1987) was an Indian artist, famous for his sculptures. [1]

He is best known for his statues of Shivaji. [2]

A museum has been set up at his house in Sasavne village near Alibag.His father was a farmer. In the village of Saswane a Shilpalaya is in the name of Vinayak. he was fond of making sculptures right from his childhood. He made a picture of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Ram temple in his village. At that time Otto rothfield was the district collector of Saswane. He admitted Vinayak to J J college in Mumbai. Then Karmarkar acquired the first rank there. He undertook a study tour several times. The most famous among his other sculptures are 'Shankha-Dhwani', 'Matsya-kanya' and 'Humjoli'. His style was realistic[3]

He is a winner of 1964 Padma Shri Award. [4]
