Waqurunchu (a possible spelling from Quechua, Hispanicized spellings Huagaruncho, Huagoruncho, Huagurungo)[1] or Tarata[2] is a 5,748-metre-high (18,858 ft) mountain in the Waqurunchu mountain range in the Andes of Peru. Its highest peak, officially named Tarata,[3] is located in the Pasco Region, Pasco Province, on the border of the districts of Huachón and Ticlacayan. The minor peak, named Huagurungo by the IGN,[4] lies west of it in the Ticlacayan District.[2]
