West Spring Secondary School (abbreviated as WSSS) is a government secondary school in Bukit Panjang, Singapore.

History
West Spring Secondary School had been scheduled to be built over a plot of land over at Dairy Farm Road, where there used to be a temple which had a well. The well was believed to bring good fortune to those who cleansed in its waters. Based on the location of the plot of land, the school was named as West Spring Secondary School, where "West Spring" means "a spring (or well) in the West".
West Spring Secondary School started classes on 2 January 2001, then moved from a temporary holding campus along Teck Whye Crescent to the new permanent campus 61 Senja Road in January 2005.[1]
The Beginning
West Spring Secondary School had its first intake in January 2001 at Zhenghua Secondary School, the holding site. A piece of land at the end of Petir Road was reserved for the building of West Spring Secondary School. The school was scheduled for completion in December 2002.[1]
A Change of Plans
However, there was a change of plans. The land reserved for West Spring was withdrawn and a piece of land along Senja Road was allocated to build West Spring Secondary School. Due to this change, West Spring Secondary was ready only at the end of 2004. Thus, the pioneer Secondary One cohort could not get to enjoy their new school's facilities.[1]
Move to Teck Whye
As a result of the change, West Spring Secondary School moved to occupy the old Teck Whye Secondary School at the end of December 2001.[1]
Move to Senja
West Spring Secondary School finally shifted to its permanent residence in Bukit Panjang in January 2005. The school was officially declared opened by Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Community Development, Youth and Sports, on 9 September 2005.[1]
