William A. "Bill" Thomas (born October 21, 1948) is a former American football player and coach. He was the 15th head football coach for the Tennessee State University Tigers located in Nashville, Tennessee and he held that position for five seasons, from 1984 until 1988. His career coaching record at Tennessee State was 34 wins, 20 losses, and 3 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks him fourth at Tennessee State in total wins and eighth at Tennessee State in winning percentage (.623).[1]
