Winter Rose was a Canadian hard rock band that was active in the 1980s. They recorded a series of demos through 1988 and 1989, which were commercially released in the mid-90's by InsideOut Music. It was their only album.

Prior to Winter Rose, Chycki also worked with future Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach under the band names Sebastian and Hope. A demo of Chycki's song "Saved by Love" is what prompted Skid Row to hire him.[1]

They are best remembered as the band that James LaBrie fronted before joining Dream Theater. However, their guitarist Richard Chycki has gone on to become a successful freelance studio engineer and has worked on many projects internationally, including Rush with Alex Lifeson, Aerosmith, Skillet, Mick Jagger, and many, many more.

Most recently he has been engineering and mixing music for Dream Theater, including their twelfth album Dream Theater and their most recent studio project, currently in production.
