Buses deployed to WLDEP are also interchangeable with Woodlands Bus Park. It also handles cross-border service 950.

History

Land for the depot was acquired by TIBS in 1997 for the construction of the new bus depot in view of overcrowding at Ang Mo Kio and Kranji. Construction began in 1997 and fully completed on 23 October 1999, with some services like 190 and 960 moved over. The bus workshop occupies the ground floor, while the upper floor handles additional parking space.

Due to a chronic shortage of space, Woodlands Bus Park was opened in 2013, which was originally called WLBP, later renamed to WPDEP to reduce overcrowding at the depot. SMRT has cut down on extensive use of bus interchanges for overnight parking at Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange.[1]
