The Taipei Metro Xiaonanmen Line is a high-capacity underground line and is part of the Green Line. It is 1.6 km (0.99 mi)-long and consists of three stations. This line was constructed along with Nangang Line to serve as a maintenance line to allow trains to access the Beitou Depot for maintenance prior to the completion of maintenance facilities on Line 5 .

History

• December 24, 1999: Part of the Nangang Line opened for service, since Nangang Depot which was designed service the line has yet to open, trains pass through Xiaonanmen line (then known as "Maintenance Track") to access Beitou Depot on Tamsui Line for maintenance.
• August 31, 2000: Xiaonanmen Line began service between Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and Ximen. A one train shuttle service utilizing one track ran at a headway of around 10 minutes, and the operating track alternated around every 6 months.
• November 24, 2013: With the completion of the Xinyi Line, shuttle service on this line was extended via Xindian Line to Taipower Building Station and utilizes both tracks.
• November 15, 2014: With the completion of the Songshan Line, Line 3 trains now run through this line from Songshan Station to the Xindian Line and terminate either at Taipower Building Station or Xindian Station.
