Zhao Lirong (March 11, 1928 – July 17, 2000) is a Chinese film actress.[1]

Biography

Before she involved in film industry, Zhao Lirong was a famous Pingju supporting actress on the stage.[2] Since the 1980s, Zhao started her comedy performance in CCTV Spring Festival Gala. In 1990, her first leading film The Spring Festival crowned her Best Actress of Tokyo International Film Festival and Hundred Flowers Awards.[3] Then she continuing her comedy career on the CCTV. On July 17, 2000, Zhao Lirong died from cancer. As one of the most favorite comedian actresses in China, thousands of her audience attended her funeral.
