The China Policy Institute is located in the Si Yuan Centre on the University of Nottingham's Jubilee Campus.

The China Policy Institute (CPI) is an international network of policy experts at the University of Nottingham's School of Contemporary Chinese Studies (SCCS) that is focused on disseminating academic research to wider audiences through print and electronic media, and through engagement with the public sector, governments and the corporate world.

Established in 2004, the CPI has been firmly committed to surveying the broadest possible range of views on greater China in an impartial and timely manner. It promotes scholarly exchange and debate that tests conventional wisdom about China. The Institute also serves as an important venue for supporting research conducted by SCCS staff and for delivering research impact.

The CPI's remit is extensive: its network of experts analyses the latest developments concerning the economy, environment, politics, law, foreign policy, military, society, culture and history of mainland China as well as Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Currently headed by Professor Niv Horesh, the Institute is supported by the SCCS, research grants, donations and sponsorship.
