The spiny-headed tree frog, Anotheca spinosa, is a species of frog in the Hylidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Anotheca.[citation needed] It is found in Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, and Panama, and its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.[1] It is threatened by habitat loss.
This species is large (58 to 80 mm), with numerous sharp, pointed projections on the head and dorsal surface, hence the common name.[2]
