Daniel J. Dalton was a New Jersey politician who served as New Jersey State Senate Majority Leader and as Secretary of State of New Jersey.
Dalton holds a bachelor's degree from Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He has a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Memphis.
Dalton was first elected to the state assembly in 1980 and to the state senate in 1982. He became the majority leader in 1990 and became secretary of state in 1992, serving until 1994. From 1994 until 2007, Dalton headed the Dalton Insurance Agency in Glassboro, New Jersey. In 2009, he was appointed a member of the Kennedy University Hospital Board of Trustees.
