Summary

This graph shows <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/greenhouse_gas" class="extiw" title="en:greenhouse gas">greenhouse gas</a> emissions from <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/climate_change_and_agriculture" class="extiw" title="en:climate change and agriculture">agriculture</a> between 1990-2010, by region. The regions are <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Africa" class="extiw" title="en:Africa">Africa</a>, the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Americas" class="extiw" title="en:Americas">Americas</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asia" class="extiw" title="en:Asia">Asia</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe" class="extiw" title="en:Europe">Europe</a>, and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oceania" class="extiw" title="en:Oceania">Oceania</a>. Emissions are measured in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/gigatonne" class="extiw" title="en:gigatonne">gigatonnes</a> (billion tonnes) of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/carbon_dioxide_equivalent" class="extiw" title="en:carbon dioxide equivalent">carbon-dioxide-equivalent</a> (GtCO2e).

Summary

Across all agricultural sectors, total emissions in 1990 were around 4.1 GtCO2e. In 2000, total emissions had increased to 4.2 GtCO2e, which is an increase of 1.9% compared to 1990 levels. In 2010, total emissions were around 4.3 GtCO2e (an increase of 13% compared to 1990 levels).

Summarized below are the percentage contributions of each region to total emissions. Data are given for 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, and 2010, respectively:
