Omer Agha, officer of Ottoman Pasha, Seyh Mahmud of Suleymaniye, Iraq, 1820. Mr. Rich the celebrated British Resident [ diplomat], in Baghdad in 1808, travelled throughout Middle East in 1820 for health reasons!, and was the guest of the Pasha of Suleymaniye, Seyh Mahmud, the son of Seyh Abdur Rahman, who built the town of Suleymaniye. The Pashas of Suleymaniye were of the Baban Family, originally from Pizhder on the Persian border, and descendant of Suleyman Baba, who fought the Persians on the side of the Ottomans in the 17th. century. They were made Pashas of two tails in the 18th. century. "
