Note that the floor is supported by stones that are independent of the walls. This is the cellar of the Bauvais-Amoureux house.

  • The Amoureaux House was built c. 1793 near <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ste._Genevieve,_Missouri" class="extiw" title="en:Ste. Genevieve, Missouri">Ste. Geneviève, Missouri</a>.
  • It is one of three poteaux-en-terre buildings that survive. The others are the Bequet-Ribault House and the Vital St. Gemme Beauvais House.
