Summary
Repton's Cross Described in Bagshaw's 1846 Trade Directory of Derbyshire in these words: "In the village is an ancient stone cross, approached by 8 steps. It has a plain round shaft with a ball on the top". Today it acts as a roundabout, being at the junction of four roads. Around here, long ago, there used to be held a market, but in Bagshaw's day, fairs were still held on the third Monday in April and the third Monday in November. The Parish Church can be seen in the distance.
