The former Rushford College. A college for a Master and five priests was founded in 1342 and the church of St John the Evangelist > <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_church_of_St_John_the_Evangelist_-_geograph.org.uk_-_1731567.jpg" title="File:The church of St John the Evangelist - geograph.org.uk - 1731567.jpg">1731567</a> - adjoining in the north - was enlarged when John Godwyk became the first Master. When Rushford College was surrendered at the Dissolution in 1541, the buildings, land and endowments were granted to the Earl of Surrey. The building is now a private dwelling house and this photo was taken by kind permission of the owner.
