The Peoples' Party of Georgia (Populist Party) was organized in 1892 from the Georgia Farmers Alliance as the state section of the national Peoples' Party. The first national convention was held in Omaha, Nebraska. Alliance leader and Georgia farmer Tom Watson Came within a few thousand votes of winning the congressional election for the district including Savannah, Georgia.

U.S. political party that sought to represent the interests of farmers and laborers in the 1890s, advocating increased currency issue, free coinage of gold and silver, public ownership of railroads, and a graduated federal income tax. Also called People's Party.
