Priti Sapru (also spelled as Preeti Sapru, is a noted actress of the Punjabi cinema. She featured in a number of Punjabi hits including Nimmo, Yaari Jat Di and Qurbani Jatt Di among others with heroes like Veerendra, Gurdas Maan and Raj Babbar.

Personal life

She was born in a family of Kashmiri Pandit origin (settled in Punjab), in Bombay, India. Famous Bollywood Supporting character actor D.K. Sapru aka Sapru was her father and actor Tej Sapru is her brother. Actor Jeevan from the Bollywood era of the 1950s and 1960s was her uncle and actor Kiran Kumar (real name Kiran Dhar) is her cousin. She did her schooling from St. Joseph's High School, Juhu, Bombay.[1]

Preeti Sapru started her Bollywood career with an Amitabh Bachchan blockbuster hit Laawaris playing a village girl Channo, whose brother (played by Suresh Oberoi makes pottery to make their ends meet. Amitabh Bachchan saves her from the villain Ranjeet. The same team again appeared much later in Bachchan's another hit Aaj Ka Arjun where again Amitabh Bachchan saves her from the villain.

Preeti Sapru joined BJP in Jagraon Fateh rally in Punjab in presence of Narendra Modi.[citation needed]
