Sport management
Sport management is a field of education concerning the business aspects of sports and recreation. Some examples of sport managers include the front office system in professional sports, college sports managers, recreational sport managers, sports marketing, event management, facility management, sports economics, sport finance, and sports information.
Education
Many colleges and universities offer bachelor's and master's degrees in sport management.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] A number of classes outside of sport management may be relevant to the field, including classes in management, marketing, business administration, and accounting. Internships may also open opportunities within the field.
Job opportunities
Sports management also opens up other opportunities for jobs in the sports world. This could mean working for professional programs like the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and many other professional or nonprofessional sport leagues in terms of marketing, health, and promotions to involves yourself behind the scenes. Going off that there is health and fitness related jobs that allow you to work more closely with just athletes.[8] The average salary of sports managers may start around $35000 to $43000. Middle-range jobs can make anywhere between $50,000 and $80,000. High-level jobs make it to over $100,000 a year.[citation needed]
