The Roxbox (Roxette 86-06), released on 18 October 2006 is a box set from Swedish pop duo Roxette,[2] celebrating 20 years of successful hit singles and albums. Its sister release was their Greatest hits compilation A Collection of Roxette Hits - Their 20 Greatest Songs!.

Box set information

The songs featured in this box set stretch back to Roxette's first release, "Neverending Love", to new songs recorded for the compilation, "One Wish" and "Reveal" also featured in their Greatest hits album. Other songs can also be found in the four CD box set, including unreleased demos and album out-takes. Strangely although every international Roxette single from "Neverending Love" to "Reveal" is included, the album omits the 1994 hit single "Fireworks". Although the reason isn't known it is assumed that Roxette do not like it as it has not appeared on previous compilations. It only appears on its parent album Crash! Boom! Bang! from 1994, although it is included in remixed form on their album Rarities from 1995. The DVD however does include the video for the track. The album does omit smaller hit singles that were only minor hits in smaller countries such as "I Call Your Name", "Chances" and "Fingertips '93".

A DVD of their complete 1993 MTV Unplugged concert featuring previously unseen performances can also be found in this box set. The cover of The Roxbox bore the line "It Was Twenty Years Ago Today...", a nod to Gessle's lifelong fandom of The Beatles, coming as it does from the song "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".

In a radio interview on Vancouver Island's CKWV-FM ("The Wave"), Gessle shared information about The Rox Box. "It's four CDs, a DVD, a little bit of this, a little bit of that, outtakes and demos and stuff. It's like a coffee table thing, and it's really, really big [with an] 80-page booklet and stuff."[3]
