This is a List of United States Post Offices that have operated under the authority of the United States Post Office Department (1792–1971) or of the United States Postal Service (since 1971). Notable U.S. Post Offices include individual buildings no longer in service which have architectural or other significance. Many of these are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and/or state and local historic registers.[1]
