Albert Rigaudière

Albert Rigaudière (born June 7, 1938) is a French legal historian.

Professor emeritus of the Panthéon-Assas University, he has been a member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres since March 17, 2000.

Biography

Born at Saint-Chamant, in the Cantal department, Albert Rigaudière holds a degree in letters (1964), a graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (public service section, 1963), a graduate of the École pratique des hautes études (IVe section, 1972), a doctorate in law (history of law, 1971) and associate of law faculties (history of law and Roman law, 1974).

Rigaudière is a permanent member of the Institut d'histoire du droit.

He sits on the Committee for Historical and Scientific Work (Section of Medieval History and Philology), on the Scientific Council of the National School of Charters, on the Committee for the Economic and Financial History of France (Bercy), on the Council of administration of the French Association for the History of Justice, the Scientific Council for the construction of the new Archives de France center in Villepinte, the Superior Council of the Archives of France (Notarial Archives) and the History Committee of city of Paris (Paris City Hall)
