Tesla, Inc. operates plants worldwide for the manufacture of their products, including electric vehicles,[1] lithium-ion batteries, solar shingles, chargers, automobile parts, and manufacturing equipment and tools for its own factories. The following is a list of current and former facilities.

Tesla Kato Road Factory Fremont, California, United States
2015 Lua error in Module:Convert at line 1851: attempt to index local 'en_value' (a nil value).[9] Previously obtained in 2015 by Solar City, the 506,409 Sq Ft of buildings is used to manufacture automotive seats and the 4680 "prototype" lithium-ion battery cell with an annual capacity of up to 10 GWh.[10][11]

Note: Maxwell Technologies was acquired by Tesla in 2019 for their battery technology.[58] Maxwell continued to operate as subsidiary until 2021.[59] Due to the short holding time and no known products produced under Tesla, their production facilities are not listed above.

Notes

  1. The eleventh character of the vehicle identification number (VIN) indicates the factory the car has been built in. "R" in the eleventh character of the VIN denotes a "Research" vehicle with no specific factory.[2]
