Ruth Cadbury (born 1959) is a Labour Party politician in the United Kingdom. She has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency of Brentford and Isleworth since gaining the seat at the 2015 General Election. She has been a Brentford councillor for 25 years, and was deputy leader of the Hounslow London Borough Council from 2010 to 2012 where she was known for her work on a Living Wage for its staff as well as her opposition to any expansion to the nearby Heathrow Airport.
Cadbury is one of three Quakers that were elected during the 2015 general election, the other being Catherine West and Tania Mathias.[1][2] Her Quaker beliefs featured in her first "maiden" speech in the House of Commons on 2 June 2015 where she highlighted her commitment to social justice and the influence of her ancestor, the chocolate producer George Cadbury.
