In 2015 Assembly Elections, Shreenarayan Yadav of RJD trounced Md Aslam of LJP by more than 46,000 votes In 2014 Assembly Bye-Elections, Shri Shreenarayan Yadav won this seat by defeating his nearest rival Shashi kant kumar of BJP by a huge margin of 38,999 votes. In 2010 Assembly Elections, Parveen Amanullah of JD(U) had won the newly constituted Sahebpur Kamal seat but resigned from her assembly membership in February, 2014 and joined AAP. As a consequence of the orders of the Delimitation Commission of India, Balia (Vidhan Sabha constituency) ceased to exist in 2010
