Sarva pindi (Telugu: సర్వపిండి)is a savory pancake made in Telangana. It is a circular shaped item made of rice flour and peanuts. It is also called tappala chekka in. Nalgonda district and It is also called as Ganju Pindi in Karimnagar "Ganju" means utensil or a round shaped bowl and "Pindi" means flour in Telugu language. So, the sentence "Ganju Pindi" can be described as rice flour that is made like atta flour and stick to the round shaped pan.

Ingredients

It is essentially made of rice flour, channa dal (lentil), peanuts and spices to make it a delicious and healthy dish.[1]

Etymology

The word Sarva Pindi can be divided into two Sarva which means a deep pot or pan and Appa means a cake sort of preparation. Hence the word to word translation of Sarva pindi is the pan cake.Sarva Pindi pancake is one of the ethnic dishes from the Telangana cuisine. Telangana cuisine was once the so-called underrated rustic, spicy, pungent cuisine and is now getting the recognition it truly deserves.

It is recognized as one of the Telangana Traditional cuisines.
