The 1992-93 NBA season was Indiana's 17th season in the NBA and 26th season as a franchise.[1] In the offseason, the Pacers traded Chuck Person to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Pooh Richardson. They continued to play mediocre basketball finishing fifth in the Central Division with a 41-41 record. Along the way, Detlef Schrempf was selected for the 1993 NBA All-Star Game. However, in the first round of the playoffs, the Pacers would lose 3-1 to the New York Knicks. Following the season, head coach Bob Hill was fired and replaced by Larry Brown, and Schrempf was traded to the Seattle Supersonics.
