The 2003–04 NBA season was the Atlanta Hawks' 55th season in the NBA and 36th season in Atlanta. The Hawks continued to struggle as they got off to a poor start, winning just three of their first ten games. In February, they traded Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Theo Ratliff to the Portland Trail Blazers for Rasheed Wallace. However, Wallace only played just one game for the Hawks before being traded to the Detroit Pistons, where he would win a championship. The Hawks finished seventh in the Central Division with a 28–54 record.
