Season 2016–17

2016–17 Persian Gulf Pro League (also known as Iran Pro League) will be the 46th season of Iran's Football League and the 16th as Iran Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Esteghlal Khuzestan are the defending champions. The season features 13 teams from 2015–16 Persian Gulf Pro League and three new teams promoted from 2015–16 Azadegan League: Paykan as champions and Machine Sazi Tabriz and Sanat Naft as second and third place teams. The league will be started on 28 July 2016.
