Stan Wawrinka was the defending champion, but lost in the first round to Damir Džumhur.

Andy Murray won the title, defeating Fernando Verdasco in the final, 6–3, 6–2.

In a quarterfinal match, Murray saved seven match points against Philipp Kohlschreiber[1] and won the second set tiebreak with a score of 20–18, tying the record of the longest tiebreak ever played alongside other six matches in the entire history, until the record was broken in 2022.[2]
