History

Founded in Silicon Valley, United States, in April 2007. Headquarters in Shanghai, with offices in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Xiamen.

Financing

A venture-backed technology company. Investors include GSR Ventures, Richmond Management, and News Corporation.

  • 1st Round Funding: closed in June, 2008, led by GSR Ventures.
  • 3rd Round Funding: announced closed on November 2, 2010, US$40 million. Some will be used to boost the mobile advertising platform, while the rest will be used for investments, mergers, and acquisitions in the sector.

Partnerships

China Network Television (CNTV)

Together with China Network Television, a newly established national Internet TV station owned by China Central Television (CCTV), an ad lab was set up on January 7, 2010, to develop new ad technologies, online video ad guidelines and standards, and brand tracking to measure the ads' impact on brand visibility on CNTV and in the industry.

HunanTV.com

Strategic partnership with Hunantv.com + imgo.tv, the online TV station of Hunan Satellite Television, was announced on January 19, 2010, and a joint online video ad lab set up, the first in the new media area founded by a province level satellite TV station in China.
Hunantv.com is licensing AdManager as the ad platform.

Products & Services

WebTV Platform

The company puts advertisements on CNTV and HunanTV.com. The syndication WebTV looks like a floating AdTV with multiple clips (15~30 sec.) embedded, with ads between the clips. The on-site video ad formats refer to regular video ad formats including pre-roll and background ad.

Online Video Website

The company shows ads on online video websites.

Social Media(social networking sites) Network

It uses applications on social networking sites, e.g. expandable banner ads, brand images embedding into apps, and tailored apps. AdChina takes advantage of demographic information of social networking sites users for targeted ads across its whole network, also using opinion leaders on those sites to influence opinion by stealth.
